A self-described “predator” who attacked women in the Lower Mainland, including Abbotsford, has been designated a dangerous offender. Just two months after Charlie Jamieson completed a seven-month “Intensive Sexual Offender Treatment Program” in prison, he attacked a 19-year-old Surrey video store clerk who was working alone. He choked her until she passed out, then sexually assaulted her after she regained consciousness.

Langley is now on the list of communities visited by a bizarre sexual predator, who commits his crimes while wearing brightly coloured spandex outfits. The Spandex Suspect, as police call the man, appeared twice in Langley on Dec. 19, in both Brookswood and Aldergrove. In his first assault, at about 11:30 a.m., he jogged toward two 13-year-old girls who were walking near 208th Street and 37A Avenue.

The spandex suspect has struck again, and police are worried his assaults on teenage girls could escalate. A man with a taste for outlandish clothing -- and the ability to move around the Lower Mainland with ease -- has assaulted at least five teenage girls in a month. Just after noon on Tuesday, he jogged toward two teenage girls walking near the corner of 29th Avenue and 268A Street in Aldergrove. As he passed them, he struck one girl on her buttocks and fled. The assault came just 45 minutes after a man fitting the same description -- middle-aged, balding and sporting bright-red spandex shorts -- jogged across the corner of 208 Street and 37A Avenue in Langley and struck one of two 13-year-old girls on her buttocks.
