POLICE URGE MOM TO GET MEDICAL HELP FOR BABY
The Province, April 27, 2006
Matthew Ramsey
Police say a missing five-week-old baby is in urgent need of medical care and they are urging the girl's mother to think of her child's well-being. Heather O'Reilly, 23, and her daughter, Ciara, were last seen at the Sheena's Place women's shelter in Whalley on Monday morning. Ciara is sick with respiratory problems and needs medical help, said Cpl. Roger Morrow of Surrey RCMP. "We're concerned. Just have some thoughtful consideration for your child," Morrow urged the young mother. O'Reilly is not believed to be suicidal, Morrow said, but she does have "medical concerns" and is known to frequent the Downtown Eastside and central Surrey. She may have been seen at the King George SkyTrain station after leaving the shelter. "Hopefully, she's not on one of our city streets," he said. Anyone who has seen O'Reilly is asked to call police immediately. |
