Parents still search for missing son
Bryan Braumberger's 19th birthday yesterday

The day a son turns 19 is supposed to be a momentous time for any father.

Ron Braumberger yesterday spent the day marking his son Bryan's 19th birthday with a series of media interviews.

Braumberger, along with investigators with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, is hoping someone comes forward to help solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of his son.

"This whole thing is a mystery to us," said Braumberger. "There is no history of Bryan not showing up.

"This is a very difficult day for us."

Bryan was last seen at 12:15 a.m. on May 31 in a New Westminster church parking lot near the home of a friend he was visiting. His car was later found unlocked, the headlights were on, and his CDs and stereo were still inside.

With no leads, Braumberger and his wife, Janice, last month announced they were offering a $10,000 reward for information about what has happened to Bryan.

Cpl. Dale Carr of IHIT said the investigation has stalled.

"It generated a few tips, but unfortunately those tips didn't help."

Carr said homicide investigators were brought in as the teen's disappearance was out of character.

"He is missing under suspicious circumstances," said Carr.

"The investigation is at a bit of a standstill," he said. "We haven't been able to substantiate he has been harmed; however, we are realists and it is in the back of our minds he may have met with foul play.

"But we haven't been able to substantiate anything."

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 1-877-543-9217 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
