Police are warning that a high-risk sex offender recently released from custody poses a significant risk to the public.

Curtis Hilchey has 14 sex-related convictions to his name, including four counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and two counts of exposing himself to a child under the age of 14. The 41-year-old's victims have been as young as six. He is known to assault strangers and people he knows.

Hilchey failed to complete any sex-offender treatment programs while in custody and police say a recent assessment found he is a high risk to commit further sexual crimes.

Police are asking anyone who sees Hilchey breaking the court-imposed conditions of his release to call 911. Those conditions are to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18, not to possess pornography and not to possess or consume alcohol or drugs.

Hilchey is Caucasian, five feet eight inches tall and about 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He often wears glasses.
