Abbotsford police are warning residents that a child
sexual offender will be living in Abbotsford when he is
released from the Correctional Service of Canada today.
Police say they believe William James Ronaldson, 43,
represents a high risk to members of the community.
Ronaldson is white, 180 cm [5' 11"], 70 kg [154
pounds] and has grey-brown hair and blue eyes.
He has a criminal history that includes sexual offences
against girls aged six to 11.
Two of his convictions involve abducting his young victims
from public places and sexually assaulting them after
driving to an isolated area.
Ronaldson is required to abide by conditions, including
not to be within 300 metres of any park, playground, school
ground, swimming area, daycare, recreation or community
centre, arcade, library, residence or any place where
children under the age of 14 can reasonably be expected
to be present.
He also may not contact or communicate, directly or indirectly,
with children under the age of 14, possess any weapons,
possess knives [except for preparing and eating food],
consume or possess any alcohol or non prescribed drugs
and he is not allowed enter any licensed establishments
where alcohol is the primary commodity for sale.
