Two sisters are missing in Surrey after they did not return
home after school on Friday.
Edina and Amina Ambeskovic, who are 11 and 16 years old,
were last seen between 3 and 4 p.m. as Amina was picking
her little sister up from Dr. F. D. Sinclair Elementary.
So far, all police can guess is that they went missing
somewhere between the school and their house, which is
some two or three blocks away.
Surrey investigators have no witnesses, and said they
are still gathering information to try and piece together
leads.
The girls' parents, Sead and Mirsada Ambeskovic, are
panicked and devastated.
"It's horrible," said Sead, who immigrated
to Canada from Bosnia with his family in 2001. Both Sead
and police said the disappearances are highly uncharacteristic
of the girls.
"They always are with me and have never had a problem
with me or with my wife or with each other," said
Sead.
Amina is described as about five feet tall with a medium
build, fair complexion and black hair. Edina is about
four feet tall with a thin build, fair complexion and
black hair as well.
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP
at 604-599-7799.
