Surrey teacher Samuel Van Ieperen has been committed
to stand trial in B.C. Supreme Court on one count of possession
of child pornography.
His preliminary hearing, which was heard over a day and
a half in Surrey provincial court, wrapped up Thursday.
He is to appear in court in New Westminster on Nov. 23
to fix a date for his trial.
Van Ieperen was arrested at Earl Marriott secondary school,
where he worked as an athletic director, in September
2005. He has since been suspended from his job, pending
the outcome of his case.
